Happy Memorial Day

Here's Logan in the park next door, before he fell on his face for the second time today, and I had to pick dirt and bark out of his mouth. (The camera is forgiving, poor guy's a little beat up.)

Yesterday Logan attended his first Fire game of the season. It went really well. We weren't sure since he's all rambunctious and all over the place now, as opposed to falling asleep in the carrier on your chest like last year. He met some other Fire fans, and did a little flirting. That sweet shirt says "Who's the best?" - Those who attend Fire games know this is part of a chant the crazy guys at the end of the field do during games. The answer is "FIRE!" (Maybe not this season, but that's another story.)

Here's the boy all wired up at his new table - former site of Jumerpoo.
He's strictly big kid stuff these days.

And oh, at long last, here's Logan taking a forward-facing trip in the car. I've been waiting for this for at least 11 and 3/4 months.

Week 52...in rewind

well it appears that i have fallen a bit behind in the blog, so i am going to try and catch up for the week's activities all at once. at this age, a lot happens so fast that if you blink, you might miss something. this week, we noticed that logan has learned a few new tricks. first, he can get on and off his toy jeep by himself and he can push the button that makes it move, so essentially, he can drive around the house. next, we also noticed that he can play catch. i know, at first i couldn't believe it myself, but martin showed me. to noone's surprise, he only plays catch with the soccer ball. finally, it would appear that logan and mascis have discovered how to put the toys away. the downside to this new trick, however, is that they think that the planter, the dresser, and the garbage can are perfect places to put toys. while on a search for martin's watch, we uncovered various missing toys in these places...who knew? it's a good thing we didn't throw out the trash yet (we still have not recovered the watch). despite all the capers and hi-jinx the little troublemaker is getting into, he is still the most adorable troublemaker i know...

Happy Birthday Mascis!

Mascis turned 1 this week, Hooray! Here he is looking so grown up.

Uh, dad, can I borrow $5?

...even though logan is not fiscally responsible yet, he really likes to dig around in his dad's wallet.

park fun

logan and mascis are finally getting to enjoy the spring weather. Here they are at one of the newer parks around the neighborhood, fully equipped with see saws, swings, and even water sprinklers.

Can I have some of that???

Anytime Logan sees an aluminum can, he immediately tries to get it. First, he plays really sweet and cute and starts acting all nice. And then, when you don't give it to him, he keeps trying to grab it out of your hands. Finally, when your back is turned, he goes and gets it. I am convinced that he keeps referring to any cans as "beer," but he never says it whenever anyone else is around.

**Don't worry, the can of RedBull was not open when we took this photo...as if he isn't high energy enough!

Going Shopping

Logan got a new toy this weekend and look how excited he is about it...

With his new shopping cart, we are hoping that one day, he will actually put his toys in the cart instead of throwing them all over the floor. Look, Logan has his grocery getters on too!

I WANT TO PUSH THE STROLLER!

Logan has really gotten into this pushing the stroller thing, but after a couple 2-3 blocks of walking at baby-pace, sometimes you gotta get moving and get yourself home.
This is his new thing - he gets mad when you stop him from doing something he's enjoying.
Uh-oh.

Ladies Luv Logan

The ladies next door (Evie on the left and Zoe on the right) have really taken a shine to Lo. Zoe especially - every time we walk outside she yells "Hi, Logan!" Or she runs up and tries to pick him up, but he probably weighs about 10# less than she does (she's 4.) Logan will grab onto her bicycle and walk along behind her on the sidewalk, but she doesn't really understand going slow so it's a bit of a challenge. She also doesn't quite get that Logan can't do all of the things she can do, like climb up on the jungle gym, etc.
It's awfully cute, though.

brookfield zoo

Logan's first trip to the Brookfield zoo, where he made fast friends with the goats.

And, he cruised around pushing his own stroller...

custom cabinets

Logan discovered how to open the cabinets today. We can't wait until the day comes where he puts stuff away instead of just pulling everything out onto the floor.

Dorks Redux

It seems like only yesterday that these guys were born. Now, they are almost a year old!
