the happiest baby on the block

i am in love with this baby
Logan is an overall pretty happy little guy
This week he learned how to roll over from tummy to back, so that completes his circle rolling to the left side. Can you guess what he has been doing all week?

Ironic Baby

Beyond stuff like holding their head up, or smiling and laughing, I think the best baby things are when babies do adult-looking things. For instance, a baby with his sleeves rolled up is completely ridiculous and fantastic.
In a recliner, no less.

Brrr

Supposedly it's not fall until Sunday, but I think no sun and the temperature drops to low 50's and I'm calling it fall today.

Wedding?

You'd never guess it from these pictures, but Logan went to a wedding this weekend.

a cherub by day, the tasmanian devil at night.

last night, logan decided that he was going to roll around and play in the middle of the night. this, of course, led him to continually yelping to get his leg unstuck from the between the slots of the crib. he finally wound up tiring himself out and falling asleep, on his tummy no less.

Double Fisting

The grabbing continues...
In lieu of anything else to grab (pacifier in left hand,) Logan now seems to sort of continaully hike up his pantleg (right hand.)

big week

lots of excitement happening this week. logan has decided that he is going to sleep face down on his stomach at night. needless to say, i have not been sleeping very well this week.

logan has also decided that the poo strike is over. he has gone 3 times in the last week. now that we have to change dirty diapers more frequently, i am secretly wishing that he goes back on strike!

finally, we bought logan some toys last week because we read somewhere in the baby books that at this age, he should be swatting and picking up toys. since he had closed fists most of the time, we were instantly freaked out that we had slowed his development in some way. well, a week later, he is now grabbing and holding toys and swatting at them too, although not in the most elegant manner. can't wait until he figures out that he can throw them. :)

this chair has quickly replaced the cradle swing as logan's newest form of entertainment.

Swatty McGrabsalot

Logan has gone from batting at things to actually grabbing hold of them.
Here he is using his pacifier for some entertaiment after a ride home

chicago fire

logan now fits in the carrier frontward facing, and it makes going to soccer games so much easier. now that he has this neck thing down, he can see everything going on around him and he really loves it - well, at least when the hat is not on.

baby q

happy labor day everyone.
we had a bbq today and there was lots of baby fun.

mascis and logan had their first conversation and were already doing things in unison. they napped at the same time, ate at the same time, they laughed and talked together too. we are sure these two are going to be great pals.

bumbo

it seems like just yesterday logan was sitting on a log (see blog entry from june 10)...now look at him. he can sit up in his bumbo without any help. crazy how the time flies.

morning fun

this is what logan does in the morning when he wakes up. he plays in his crib until he gets tired or hungry and then he starts to shout for me. hilarious. ever since he started rolling over, it seems like he can't stop trying. unfortunately, he can't roll back over the other way yet, so he winds up screaming when he wants to be rolled back over, so he can roll over again...

first laugh

we spent the day running errands and shopping. this is what logan looks like from the front seat of the car. not so happy, but when we stopped to play with him, he actually laughed for the first time. not a squeal, but a real laugh. it left martin and me in tears - it was so awesome. martin got him to do it again and again just because it was so cool.
