A Gay Holiday Party

Tom and Tiffany Gay had their annual holiday party.
He really liked their tree and all the sparkling lights.

He really didn't like the talking Buck as seen behind him. We have never seen him jump so high before!

Putting things in his mouth, his favorite thing to do. This time he has most of his friend the lion in his mouth. The doctor said his four front teeth are likely going to come in at once or pretty close, which may explain the need to bite down on anything solid.

logan must be going through some development as he has been incredibly fussy at night this weekend. finally, he is napping. we are all so tired...

we went out to dinner tonight, and the waiter was waving at logan and he appeared to wave back. this seemed like maybe it could be coincidence, but then he did it again a while later. this would be the first. we'll see if it continues.
arlene tried to catch him doing it the second time, but didn't quite make it...

logan is very close to cutting his first tooth. in preparation of this blessed event, he is putting everything in his mouth.

here he is trying out his first teething biscuit. i tried it and nearly broke my own tooth testing it out.

6 mos old

Logan is officially 6 mos old. We can't believe half a year has gone by so quickly. It seemed like just yesterday he was born and now he is on the verge of crawling. Thanks to everyone who has joined us in the journey. Unfortunately, there is a problem with blogger and I can't upload pictures right now, but as soon as we are up and running, I will post the backlog.

here is logan enjoying his first piece of real fruit. if you can call the slice of apple in the teething bag a piece of fruit. he is on the verge of creeping these days, so he can use all the energy he can get...

it's not every day that you can say that you sat in a shoe box full of toys.

Boost

Logan made his first trip to the Breakfast Club sans car seat today, and we found out they have no high chairs - only booster seats. Although I was a bit skeptical at first, it actually turned out to be better than a high chair, which is still a bit of a swimmy fit... With a wall (and a jacket) on one side and me on the other to make sure he didn't fall out, he did really well.

..and uh, the boy needs his coffee, please.

we can't really endure the post thanksgiving shopping craze, so we have been hanging out around the neighborhood and the house, enjoying the free time. here is our latest family portrait - not too bad for taking it ourselves...

Ladies Love Lil' Logan

...and Logan seems to loves the attention. Logan has been busy yucking it up over Thanksgiving. Here he is over at Saher + Eben's - getting the love from Pam, Anny and Saher. Below, he's on a little tour of the neighborhood, enjoying the unusually warm weather and sun. I think he looks like a little old man on vacation in this one.
If you look very closely, you can see Logan's favorite lady in his sunglasses.

from the high chair

logan is too big for the infant car seat now, so we have been toting him around without it and he has been using high chairs when we go out. he is still a little small for the high chair, but we stuff some jackets behind him and he makes do. last week, a woman looked at him and said "10 months?" and we were like "no, 5..." and she still brought him out his own plate of tofu and rice. he does look big for his age.

Logan tries sweet potato for the first time. it's better than rice cereal, although, still not as good as what the adults were eating...

logan looks like a giant teddy bear in his winter gear - and he is great for snuggling.

good morning

one of the best things about logan is the huge smile he gives you when you go to pick him up in the morning. at first, he is chatting it up in his crib, talking to his toys and squealing. then, he notices you are there and welcomes you with the big toothless grin. there are fewer things in the world better than this.
