Logan wanted to send a special message to his grandfather today on his birthday.
He didn't have to learn TOO much of the alphabet to be able to spell this out.
Love - Martin, Arlene and Logan
especially when the baby is as cute as this one!
here we are once again at a chicago fire game with our friends sandra and patrick (that's patrick in the photo). it rained all evening, so we were standing in the back where it was dry. logan is cheering on his favorite mls team from the bjorn. actually, i think he was busy staring at sandra all evening. i think he recognizes her voice because she was a regular at the hospital before he was born.

Logan would like you to meet his new cousin, Ella Parker Tee! She is the beautiful addition to the family, born today at 6lbs 9oz, 19 in long.

the weather this week is supposed to be in the 90s for most of the week, which is pretty hot by chicago standards. it was 97 today when we went out to the meanies soccer game. is it bad to only dress him in a tank top and no pants??? we are hot!
we have also introduced logan to the vibrating rocker chair, which he took a nap in today. look how big he has gotten! thanks for making him some pillows lola!
wow, the days just fly by. logan is a whopping 6 weeks old today. i found my journal from the pregnancy last night and read the last entry, it was on the night we went into early labor - the second time. i thought i was having stomach pains that i could sleep off, but it turns out they were really contractions...crazy, how long ago it feels when it was only march!
logan and i spent the day inside, playing and watching tv. it rained most of the day. he still hasn't pooped yet, but we talked to the doctor this morning and he said not to worry since he is a breastfed baby. he also mentioned that whenever he finally does make it happen, it will be enough to compensate for all the missed days. i believe we are on day 3 already. uh oh!
on wednesday, the pediatrician mentioned that logan might undergo some changes where he doesn't poop as frequently as he used to. he then proceeded to poop on the doctor (he must have known we were talking about him). we really didn't think anything of it, but he hasn't gone poop in a while. he had a horrible night of grunting and crying. i hope this isn't the start of colic...
we put shoes on logan yesterday. could he be any cuter? notice he is also wearing a shirt for a 3 month old. thanks aunt kiegan! this is one of my favorite poses - the after eating/napping/anytime stretch. he is very vocal, so you can just imagine this stretch accompanied by a long grunty noise...
yesterday, little logan got mad and started crying and real tears started to appear. it literally broke my heart. he didn't have any running down his cheeks or anything, but his eyes were all watery and wet. i am in for it once they actually start streaming...ugh! i would have taken a picture of it, but it was too painful. i am such a sucker. here is a cuter picture instead. look at that pucker.
grumpus has already started growing out of his clothes! i can't believe it. he is only 5 weeks old and he is already moving into the 3-6 mos clothing size. i was looking at him this morning and noticed how big he is getting, literally overnight. soon, he's going to get too big for me to carry. i must start lifting weights immediately...look how long he has gotten!
today, we went on our first soccer outing. we went to a chicago fire game. we fed logan in the car before we went in to avoid any major hungry meltdowns, and then we took turns carrying him in the sling. we tried to leave before the fireworks after the game, but got caught in the parking lot, right next to where they were being set off. chicago is a crazy city on the 4th of july. driving home, you can see fireworks going off everywhere around you. it is very surreal. i am not sure baby logan was able to appreciate them this year, at least, not with his eyes closed...
